이 작업은 인공지능 기술과 창조적 상상력이 만나 구현된 모큐멘터리(페이크 다큐멘터리)이다. 운석 충돌이 일으킨 가상의 폐허가 된 도시를 배경으로, 자연이 인간에 의해 만들어진 환경을 재점령하는 모습을 섬세하고도 사실적으로 담아내려 하였다. GPT-4와 Stable Diffusion 기술이 조화롭게 결합된 이 작업은 우리가 아는 현실과 픽션 사이의 경계를 허물며 새로운 시각적 경험을 유도한다. 다채로운 자연의 빛깔과 유령도시가 만나 형성되는 숲의 풍경은, 지구상의 도시들이 향후 자연과 어떻게 공존할 수 있을지에 대한 질문을 던진다. 이러한 가상의 세계에서, 인간이 만들어낸 기술과 건축물들이 자연에 의해 재탄생되며, 폐허가 되어 가치를 상실한 인간의 유산이 새로운 생명력과 어우러져 더욱 아름다운 모습으로 거듭나게 된다. 이 작업은 도시재개발과 환경적 측면이 교차하는 지점에서 탄생한 미래학적 관점을 토대로, 관객에게 인간과 자연, 그리고 기술이 어우러져 조화롭게 존재할 수 있는 미래를 상상하게 한다. 다양한 취재와 인터뷰를 인공지능 기술을 사용하여 구현하였다. 실제 배우의 연기 위에 레이어링된 구성으로 <Overgrown Green>은 우리가 이끌어갈 수 있는 미래의 가능성과, 그 과정에서 인간이 배워야 할 중요한 교훈들을 제시하며, 더욱 녹색이 깊어지는 세상을 향한 희망적인 발걸음을 불러일으키고자 하였다. 새로운 시각과 상상력을 불러일으키며, 우리 사회가 지향해야 할 지속 가능한 미래에 대한 고민을 자극하는 <Overgrown Green>은 현대적인 도시와 눈부신 자연이 어우러져 펼쳐지는 아름다운 그림을 그리며, 우리 모두가 채택할 수 있는 새로운 길을 생각하게끔 하는 계기가 되길 바란다.
The project is produced in the form of a mockumentary (fake documentary) and is organized using artificial intelligence technology. The main purpose of this work is to think about how cities and nature can exist together by covering and interviewing cities and buildings devastated by meteorite collisions returning to natural forests. This artwork deals with the problem of human heritage whose value has been lost due to urban redevelopment, and consists of a form of reflecting it from an environmental perspective. This project shows this phenomenon realistically, but it is a fake documentary and is constructed using artificial intelligence technology.
This work is a combination of reality and imagination, which evokes thoughts about our cities and nature and presents a new perspective. The contents of this mockumentary consist of conversations of various large language models, and the video was planned and produced through artificial intelligence such as Text to image and Text to video. Through this, it aims to stimulate our imagination by creating works that combine reality and imagination, and to draw concerns and thoughts about the future.
